Health center unveiled in Moreno Valley

A federally funded community health center that will expand access to primary and specialty care has opened in Moreno Valley.

The 24,000-square-foot project opened Monday in a renovated Altura Bank Building at the northeast corner Cactus Avenue and Graham Street, according to a statement.

The medical home is Riverside University Health System’s eleventh federally qualified community health center in Riverside County. It will provide treatment on a sliding scale and will be governed by a panel of patients and stakeholders.

Riverside University Health System trains more than 1,000 medical residents and medical students every year through its own programs, in partnership with several universities.

The health system also sponsors one of California’s first Family Medicine programs, which was accredited by the American College of Graduate Medical Education in the early 1970s, according to the statement. #spmgmedia
